Here we are in the world famous Ladd Karate school working our armbars, chokes and various other tools of the “gentle art” (so-called because we aren’t punching each other in the chops). In Brazilian Jiu-jitsu we fight for the position (“roll for control”) and wear our opponents down with Newtonian physics.
Everything you need for effective self-defense is available to you here in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. We have the take-downs, the exercises for escape and the finishing holds you need to survive any encounter be it in the street or at the tournament.
Make your martial art trainable as a sport and the rest is cake. You’ll be a martial monster to those who don’t train in a matter of weeks.
Plus you’ll be mixing with us, the most welcoming and patient as well as tasteful and erudite crew of martial arts practitioners this side of Polybius (who? Look him up!).
Dear friends, martial mavens, particular boozers, here I present a friend and sparring partner of ours of such fine erudition and unflappable good sense that we are beyond tickled to have him aboard our sterling little Brazilian Jiu-jitsu and lunch devouring exercise! It is my delight to introduce Elliot Acosta into our complex midst of discussion of all things trivial, profound and otherwise! We ❤ Elliot!
